I made this map, titled "Emissions Withtout Omissions" after reading The Divide and Less Is More by Jason Hickel, which got me interested in the issues of climate justice, global capitalism, and neocolonialism. I was frustrated with the apolitical liberal discourse that suggested that the burden of climate change was shared equally across all countries, that it was an issue that could be solved by technology, and that it could be solved through market based solutions. I was inspired by more radical, class based framings of the climate crisis and decided to make a map that reflected the role that industrialized Western imperialist nations have played in climate change, and how the West's so called 'enemies' are blamed for a disproportionate amount for their role in the climate crisis
